Broadcom CEO Tom Krause gave the first picture in a blog post on how to integrate VMware into Broadcom. At the end of May, unexpectedly, a $61 billion bid was made for the virtualization and cloud giant. In a little over a week, the 40-day period during which it can be searched for other buyers will expire. Now, some plans have been announced, with many advantages mentioned.

The acquisition of Symantec and CA Technologies, the two Broadcom subsidiaries focused on enterprise software, will provide more options under the VMware brand. The goal is to flexibly build, run, manage, connect and protect any scalable application in a variety of distributed environments. From the host to the server to the cloud via the container management system Kubernetes, the choice of platform is free. Every device should be accessible anywhere and anytime.

Broadcom Software has previously stated that it prefers large customers because they generate the most returns. Therefore, most of the development money is spent on the wants and requirements of these companies. VMware should focus on smaller customers. Existing relationships should be preserved and further expanded.

Broadcom now promises to retain VMware’s engineering and R&D staff, while prior acquisitions have cut a significant portion of its staff and reduced its marketing budget.
