Microsoft has released version 103 of Edge. This update brings with it all kinds of game-related functions, making the browser, in its own words, the best for gamers. In addition to the previously promised Games tab and Xbox Cloud Gaming booster, there are some new features as well.
For example, the developer added an efficient mode where Edge requires less computing power while the game is running. This setting – if enabled – will automatically open and close when a game is started or closed without the need to restart the browser. You can find the productivity mode under Settings > System and Performance > Optimize Performance.
Version 103 also supports games, live streams, tournaments, etc. It also includes the game homepage, which provides a personalized overview. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can also use this window to play games via the cloud gaming service. The latter is complemented by Clarity Boost, a scaler aimed specifically at playing cloud games on Edge. You can enable this setting when a game is launched.
Finally, the Games tab appears, where users can select browser games from a list compiled by Microsoft. This menu can be found via options (…), you can also add the Games button to the Edge taskbar via Settings > Appearance.
