Asrock has posted the specs for its upcoming X670E Taichi motherboard online. The Taichi will be the top model in Asrock’s motherboard lineup for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPUs.
The X670E Taichi has an AM5 socket with Ryzen 7000 support; just like other X670E motherboards. Socket 26 is powered by the VRM phase. There are also four DDR5 memory slots and two PCIe 5.0 slots (one with 16 lanes and the other with 8 lanes).
For storage, Taichi has space for four m.2 SSDs. One of them is pcie 5.0, which Asrock calls ‘Blazing’. The other three are ‘Hyper’ or pcie 4.0. It also has eight SATA 3.0 ports.
When it comes to USB ports, the motherboard follows all standards: there are two USB-c ports on the back (Thunderbolt 4) and eight ‘regular’ USB ports, five of which are USB 3.2 Gen2 and three USB 3.2 Gen1. For a possible front panel, there are connections for one USB 3.2 Gen2x2 port (usb-c) and four more USB 3.2 Gen1 ports.
Asrock has also developed several useful features for gamers. For example, 2.5 Gbit/s LAN port and WiFi (6E) can work together for a higher bandwidth. Network intensive applications (such as games) automatically use the fastest and most stable connection, usually a LAN connection. There are also two Lightning Gamer Ports: USB ports, each connected to a different controller (USB and PCIe) and should provide lower latency.
Asrock announced its upcoming X670E motherboard lineup late last month. In addition to this Taichi there will be an X670E Taichi Carrara, X670E Steel Legend and X670E PRO RS. No ‘non-E’ X670 and B650 motherboards have been announced yet.
