Despite being a cheaper counterpart to last year’s flagship, it looks like the next one Pixel 6A could offer a significant improvement over the series Pixel 6, which is a faster fingerprint sensor. this second Fazli Halima Malaysian YouTuber who appears to have gotten his hands on Google’s upcoming device a month before its official launch on July 28, the video was spotted via 9to5Google

That’s potentially good news after the Pixel 6 series’ fingerprint sensors proved to be a surprisingly sweet spot for these devices, and they were noticeably slower from an authentication standpoint than other phones. A Google support account later suggested that the device’s “advanced security algorithms” were to blame for the slowness. The company has subsequently tried to resolve issues with software updates, but complaints always continue.

A short tap of the finger unlocks the Pixel 6A, while the Pixel 6 Pro often struggles and instead asks the user to “press and hold a little longer”. The 6A sometimes won’t unlock after a short tap, and other times the 6 Pro unlocks just fine, but the 6A seems to be more reliable overall.

Here is the video showing the process just described, and you can immediately see what we are talking about.

as it notes 9to5Googlethe Pixel 6A device shown in the video is unlikely to run completed software, so the comparison may not exactly match users’ experiences when it’s officially released, but it’s still consistent with comments from Google hardware head Rick Osterloh at Android Central last month who confirmed that the Pixel 6A will come with a different fingerprint sensor in the device than the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
