Qualcomm is one of the main protagonists of the CES exhibition in Las Vegas. The American company, in addition to betting on computers and the connected home, is also betting on mobility. Proof of this are Snapdragon Ride Elite and Snapdragon Cockpit Elite chips which they announced last October and which will soon be used in vehicles and components from brands like Hyundai, Alpine and other major auto brands thanks to partnerships with these manufacturers announced during the aforementioned technology fair.
One of the car companies that has turned to Qualcomm for the future of its cars is Hyundai Mobis. Both companies announced the development navigation system combining Snapdragon Ride Flex chip thanks to Hyundai software improvements in infotainment and driver assistance.
This will create a system that includes autonomous driving and ADAS functions on a single chip, making it more efficient and safer since everything is centralized in one component. In fact, Soo Kyung Jung, executive vice president of Hyundai Mobis, emphasized that “this collaboration allows us to set standards in developing vehicle central computers that meet consumer expectations in terms of efficiency and safety.”
Alpine, Panasonic and Garmin bet on Qualcomm Snapdragon control panel
Parallel, Alps Alpine confirmed that They will bet on the Snapdragon Cockpit chip for their cars.allowing them to incorporate artificial intelligence generative functions and make infotainment systems more intuitive and interactive. It will also allow the brand’s vehicles to include features such as electronic mirrors, integrated door devices, roof-mounted screens and personalized sound zones.
Panasonic Automotive SystemsFor its part, it will rely on the Snapdragon Cockpit Elite platform in its future cockpit domain controllers (CDCs) and high-performance computing (HPC) systems, which are used in PAS systems. This will enable the platform to offer more immersive multimedia features, 3D graphics and AI-powered virtual assistants, as well as security features and long-term support.
Breakfast SV also uses Cockpit Elite for its G10PH smart cockpit platform. Jian Xu, the head of the company, emphasized that this marks a technological revolution in the transition to vehicles driven by artificial intelligence, accelerating the global development of smart mobility.
Finally, Garmin and Qualcomm have expanded their partnership with the release of Garmin Unified Cabin 2025, a digital cockpit solution with “scalable domain controller capabilities from a single Garmin control module.” This platform uses Snapdragon Cockpit Elite to make the car’s infotainment system and screens smarter and more intuitive, as well as having artificial intelligence features.
All these agreements, we repeat once again, were announced at CES in Las Vegas and will bear fruit in the coming months.
