Elon Musk rekindles the hopes of fans. On the occasion of the last press conference devoted to the financial results of the quarter just ended, the billionaire announced that the production of the expected Tesla Cybertruck it could start in the middle of next year.
Almost three years have passed since the presentation of the futuristic – and colossal – pickup. The Tesla Cybertruck was originally supposed to hit the market in 2021, but its launch has been continually delayed. Tesla has had to get their hands on the design of the vehicle several times: the prototype shown in 2019 had more than a few problems and certainly could not be approved in this way. And from 2021 we started talking about 2022. But then Covid-19 got in the way and between that and the inauguration of two Gigafactories (with a third on the way), Cybertruck quickly fell on Tesla’s priority list.
For example, there is a new (possible) date: the Tesla Cybertruck comes after the first half 2023. But even Elon Musk isn’t even sure of this date, so much so that by announcing it, he’s a “hopefullyIn short, if all goes well that will be the date, who knows.
At the time of the presentation, there was no such thing on the market. There was no other electric pickup with titanic proportions on the market. But in the meantime, things have changed and even this atypical segment of the market is quickly becoming saturated thanks to the offerings of rival automakers (and others). Ford has his F-150 LightningRivian the R1S and General Motors are Hummer EV.
During the press conference, Elon Musk did not go into the details of the Cybertruck’s current design phase. We don’t know whether the car manufacturer has completed everything that needed to be completed, or whether, on the contrary, there are still some tasks to be completed before a homologable version of the electric all-terrain vehicle can be launched on the market.
