Unlike many other tech companies, it appears that: google does not intend to leave some of its – very large – workforce at home. However, like other companies, Google executives have sent a letter to all employees, anticipating the coming of very difficult times.

The new document is called ‘Simplicity Spring‘ and outlines the philosophy that Google will follow closely in the coming months. Months likely to be marked by enormous difficulties, perhaps in view of one recession global economy that will hit the global economy and technology sector hard.

It is clear that we are facing a challenging macroeconomic scenario, times of great uncertainty await us

wrote the #1 of GoogleSundar Pichai, to company employees. Then to continue like this:

The productivity of Google as a whole is not at the level it should be, given the number of employees we employ. We must therefore create a goal-oriented work culture with more focus on our products and our customers. We need to look ahead and think about how we can minimize distractions and raise the bar for excellence in our products and productivity.

So no threat of layoffs. But a factual finding: Considering the sheer number of employees and managers it employs, Google should have a level of productivity superior to the current. A change of direction is urgently needed.

Google executives recently announced that new hires will be taking a break. In the coming months, Google will hire new employees exclusively in high-productivity divisions, such as those involved in engineering and programming. Instead, put the hiring machine in the human resources, marketing, and legal departments.

Through the Simplicity Spring platform, employees have until August 15 to share their ideas with executives and help improve Google’s productivity and corporate culture.
