End-to-end encryption in messaging apps is one of the most important features to keep all messages sent secure. This means that many instant messaging companies have opted for this feature, as is the case with WhatsApp.

Although Messenger is part of Meta, this messaging app has not had end-to-end encryption so far. The announcement made today by Mark Zuckerberg’s company clarified plans that you should get this security feature for all chats once and for all.

A series of tests have been created over the past few weeks to make sure this feature works correctly in the app. What has been commented on in the official post coming from Facebook itself is that they’ve been working on it for a long time.

What is end-to-end encryption?

End-to-end encryption means that neither the Meta nor anyone else will be able to know what is inside these chats. Of course, this won’t be the only feature coming to this meta messaging app. And this is that a series of new products has just begun, since there is a lot of fabric to be cut.

This may not be new to many, but backups are the big absence of Facebook Messenger, and now will be in place so users can save their chats over time and don’t miss any interaction or conversation you had with different people in the app.

Also, these backups will also be end-to-end encrypted, and the same will happen with calls. that now this security factor will be even more useful at a general level and will give the feeling of better protection against any type of data leakage.

All of these features will arrive at some point, although it is completely unknown when that date will be. Of course, for now, you need to keep waiting, as Facebook hasn’t given a specific date for these features to be available on its app.indicating that they are still in development.
