Also Amazon wants to be inspired by TikTok. The ecommerce giant wants to create a new infinite scroll feed called inspire. It uses algorithms to recommend new products to the user to buy, chosen based on their tastes, interests and needs.
The new vertical scrolling feed will be introduced on the official Amazon application. The company has been working on it for several months and is now ready to release it officially, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
Not just products: the content is all multimedia. Photos and videos, which give the user an accurate picture of the items for sale. The idea is to offer something that is somewhere between entertainment and a shopping guide.
The new section should be called Inspire precisely because it aims to inspire users with their next purchases. The button to open Inspire appears in the horizontal menu at the bottom of the screen: the icon is in the shape of a diamond.
It’s not the first curious experiment of Amazon, which in the past has even focused on live teleshopping to encourage purchases. It is certainly emblematic that even Amazon, like social networks, has chosen to follow the TikTok model in order to capture the attention of users, and therefore their wallets.
