Qualcomm went through a process of rebranding the series processors Snapdragon 800 And 700 and chose names like Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1; the aim of this new branding is to make it easier for users to understand and avoid confusion. We now have (almost) confirmation that Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 it’s the next processor to come, replacing the Snapdragon 600 series, which makes sense as Qualcomm has decided to move to a leaner and more consistent naming scheme.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is expected to arrive soon and bring some massive improvements to mid-range phones, based on a suggestion from Evan Blasswe have a leaked screenshot showing the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in terms of specs and features.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 1

Qualcomm is not a company responsible for releasing all the CPU details for the chipsets and therefore Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is only listed as a 2.2GHz CPU in the screenshot, but the image in question still manages to reveal a lot more detail. To start with, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 would come with 4K HDR shooting capabilities, and the chipset will be based on the 4nm manufacturing process.

In addition, it seems that there will be a Hexagon Tensor Accelerator for better machine learning, a Snapdragon X62 modem with mmWave and sub-6GHz support and Smart Transmit 2.0 energy-saving technology, Bluetooth 5.2 technology, Wi-Fi 6E, 120Hz up to FHD + together with Quick Charge 4 Plus. All these specs show that Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 will be a major upgrade over previous generation chipsets.
