For a few months now, NASA has started receiving a series of abnormal data by the space probe Traveler 1 that conflicted with what the probe was doing. Thus it was discovered that theposture articulation and control system (AACS) sent data to an on-board computer that hadn’t worked for years.

Some tools on Voyager 1 are disabled to save power or have stopped working. However, the team realized that theAACS sent data to a computer that hadn’t been running for several years and the latter was responsible for sending the same data incorrectly.

The issue has been temporarily resolved due to this data being sent to the wrong computer, but the team is working to determine the cause of the malfunction of the postural articulation and control system.

The team will do what they can to find out what’s causing it, but they’re optimistic enough to find out, despite an investigation to be done. Fortunately, in the last period they have also been able to retrieve the correct version of the data sent from the computer.

The ACSS is an important element of the Voyager 1 probe, as it can keep the antenna pointing toward Earth.
