According to Mark Gurmana reporter and leaker with an excellent track record for Apple information, in his latest newsletter Bloomberg’s Power OnGurman says Apple has theApple Watch SE 2 the September 7but which will be nearly identical to the original Apple Watch SE.

The design will apparently be the same, with the main update reportedly being a new chipset; switch from Apple’s S5 to a Silicon S8. That may sound like a big jump, but the S6 and S7 chipsets were essentially identical to each other, so it’s more like a two-generation pass rather than three.

However, that could lead to a significant increase in power and efficiency, meaning it’s probably a worthwhile upgrade, although it may not be worth upgrading from the original Apple Watch SE. Since the new model is also likely to cost more, there may also be an argument for buying the old model instead of this one.

Obviously, this is just speculation for now: it’s possible that there will be other improvements or that the chipset change could be transformative, so it’s worth tuning in on September 7 and the evaluations of the new wearable to find out, moreover, this is not the only news that Gurman gives on the Apple Watch, as he claims that we also have the Apple Watch Series 8 that day.
