The automotive sector has been undergoing a revolution for about a decade now. With the advent of the 10s, cars were no longer just cars. Electric motors, cameras, chips, autonomous driving… we are undergoing a necessary transformation, and the path to it is not clear.
That is why engineers have been testing new technologies all this time. The goal is to make roads not only safer, but also more convenient and efficient. This is where today’s invention comes in, not new, just very difficult to use.
During testing of magnetic levitation vehicle technology The 2.8-ton vehicle hovered 35 millimeters above the road and drove along a highway in Jiangsu province.east of China.

The car, developed by Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, has been modified from the traditional vehicle. A set of permanent magnets was installed for levitation, and the road was paved with a good lane that allowed the car to levitate.
The next task will be the development of maglev vehicles.according to Deng Zigang, a university professor who hopes the technology will help reduce energy consumption and increase the range of cars in the future.
On the same day, another road test was carried out, this time at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. A total of eight vehicles were tested on the 7.9-kilometer section of the highway, with a maximum speed of about 230 kilometers per hour.
The trials were organized by the provincial transportation authorities and were aimed at studying the design of roads and safety measures for high-speed driving.
These tests do not mean that in a few years we will see cars levitating on the highway. Never. Levitation is something that is still very much in its infancy and safety is the most important thing when it comes to mobility.
