The new widget set announced by google in front of iOS 16, lets you quickly start a Google Chrome search, check new emails in Gmail, access Google Drive, Google Maps, and more. Let’s explore all the new widgets.
When will these widgets be released? Google says these will be available in the coming weeks, so don’t expect them to be available right away, and keep in mind that you’ll need to update their respective Google apps to use the new mini widgets.
The first set of widgets includes Google’s core business: Research. iOS 16 highlights some new Google search widgets that let you configure the experience by choosing which search options appear on the widgets. Chrome is another app that scores special widgets for the lock screen, and you can go straight to voice search, open a new tab, switch to incognito mode, or play Chrome’s dinosaur game.
With the mini Drive widgets that Google has added to its iOS 16 app, you can view suggested actions and quickly access your favorite Drive folders, with many more coming with this update.
