For the first time in space exploration, it is the China to announce the discovery of a new mineral on the moon. So it will be the third country to make such a discovery later on States United And Russia. This brings us to an altitude of 6 new minerals discovered on Earth’s satellite.

Speaking at a press conference, the vice president of CAEA (China Atomic Energy Authority) announced the discovery of a new mineral called Change Site- (Y). Found in the lunar basalt particles, this is a mineral based on: phosphate.

Scientists from the Institute for Beijing Uranium Geological Survey have identified and analyzed a crystal with a radius of about 10 microns among 1,400,000 samples of lunar particles. Advanced techniques have been used to identify it, including: X-ray diffraction. Scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Natural Resources also participated in the study.

The lunar samples, weighing about 1,731 grams, were returned to Earth about 40 years after the mission Chang’e-5, the first lunar monster recovery mission. Studying these samples is crucial in determining the education and theevolution from our satellite.
