An image of a screenshot taken from the prototype of the expected Xiaomi 13 Pro reveals more than some interesting information. For starters, the screen clearly shows that the new phone is equipped with the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. But the interesting detail is another: the chip would have a frequency of 3.00GHz. That’s the same as the S8G1.

But how, the new chip didn’t have to work on it frequency of 3.5 GHz? So they wanted the rumors, which talked about two versions of the chip, including one at 3.5 GHz. The image of the info screen of this Xiaomi 13 Pro seems to disprove everything.

Or not. The dots have been put on by the specialized site WCCF Tech, which puts forward some hypotheses. For starters, remember that this is a prototype and not a final version of the phone. Therefore, nothing precludes Xiaomi’s technicians from simply testing the phone with the less powerful version of the chip. As far as we know, Xiaomi may well be testing different versions of the chip on multiple prototypes, in order to understand how the phone behaves at high temperatures (one of the problems of the S8G1 chip).

Among other things, the image also confirms that the prototype will have 12 GB of LPDRR5 RAM, as well as Android 13 with MIUI 14 skin.
