Despite Apple has withdrawn all its products from Russia, theiPhone 14 however, it will arrive in the main electronics stores of Fly. And not only that, ironically it also seems that the phone is much more successful than its predecessor, in the sense that many more handsets are being sold.
The iPhone 14 is currently in the presale phase. The results of this booking campaign are impressive: orders are up 150% from a year ago when the iPhone 13 was sold in the country through Apple’s official channels.
Technically, the new smartphones are not coming imported to Russia direct from Apple, they come from a parallel distribution circuit. In jargon we speak of the gray market, which is not a strictly illegal activity, although in some cases companies may try to hinder these unofficial distribution networks.
Apple phones are not the only products imported into Russia in this way. For example, Tesla cars have always been quite successful in Moscow, despite the automaker not officially importing its vehicles into Russia.
Despite these ambiguities, the iPhones 14 are sold directly in Russia by phone operators, such as MTS. According to MTS, 70% of pre-orders are for the new iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, which would be in line with international trends, telling us about a successful launch for the two high-end models and an understated debut for the two ‘entry-level’ telephones.
