We have talked many times about ecological icon which the DGT imposes on vehicles traveling on public roads. Is sticker which is located in our automobile or a motorcycle lets road agents know what type of vehicle we are driving in terms of pollution.
The problem is that the labels are slightly wrong.. The environmental label only takes into account such simple questions as whether our car is a hybrid, the year of manufacture and … something else. That is, it does not take into account the amount of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere.
This situation means that the 2005 diesel car does not have a sticker, but the 2003 petrol car does. Or that a 2022 compact with 120 grams CO2 approved has a C label, while a Porsche hybrid with 380 grams approved has a 0 label.
In Spain labels are very important as they determine how much we pay in taxes. (registration, ITV, etc.) and also can we enter low emission regulated areas. So this is not a minor issue.
Greenpeace complaints about the DGT environmental label
yesterday Tuesday, Greenpeace activists unfurled a banner on several cars in the form of a sticker from the General Directorate of Road Traffic with the text: ECO forceps. DGT is changing labels right now!
With this performance the environmental organization demanded that the DGT reform the environmental labels of vehicles.then, in his opinion, they do not correspond to the environmental reality of these cars.
As explained by Europa Press, Greenpeace believes that the current system does not adequately reflect the contamination of models. But for now”aspects of the conditions, such as tax incentives or free access to new low-emission zones.
DHT He has a real problem with environmental labels and a lot of the population is complaining about it. Unless the polluting car is actually attacked, this measure will never achieve its purpose: reduce emissions and urban pollution deaths.
