This morning around 8:30 am, Ukrainian time zone, Russia hit Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, with a heavy rain of missiles. Most of the attacks were concentrated in the central districts of the city. According to analysts, this would be an orderly retaliation after the explosion that occurred last Saturday that damaged the bridge between Russia and Crimea.
Within minutes Russia fired dozens of missiles against the capital. One of the missiles would also hit the institute Samsung Ukraine research and development. At this point, the news is still confused and patchy. However, according to some sources, the center was only touched, causing significant damage. Other sources, on the other hand, claim that the center was directly hit.
It is worth noting that in the neighborhood where Samsung’s headquarters is located, the offices of the DTEKa major Ukrainian energy company – which was arguably one of the main targets of the attack.

The R&D center in Ukraine was founded in 2009. A video shared on Twitter shows the skyscraper housing Samsung’s offices, shrouded in a menacing column of smoke. Regardless of the site of the impact, the building clearly suffered extensive damage and part of one of the facades was stripped. The Russians not only hit the capital, authorities also reported explosions in Dnipro, Lviv and Zaporizhia.
Valeriy Zaluzhny, the general responsible for leading and coordinating the resistance efforts of the Ukrainian army, claims that Russia fired a total of 75 missiles at the country, but 41 of them were intercepted and neutralized by the air defense system. Many missiles are said to have hit some key energy infrastructures, the Interior Ministry has warned the population to expect interruptions to light, water and communications during these hours.
