According to The Information magazine, Apple has already stopped production of theiPhone 14 Plusthe new model first introduced in 2022. A ‘basic’ iPhone but with the dimensions of a Pro Max.

A bet that didn’t pay off. Sales figures would be extremely lower than Apple had hoped, which is why the company has already decided to stop production.

Apple has already ordered its suppliers to halt production of the iPhone 14 Plus. The company will need a few weeks to reassess demand for the product and decide how it will behave accordingly.

You wonder: is it the fault of the form factor or the price range? Is there a demand for an ‘essential’ iPhone 14 with a 6.7-inch screen, or is there simply no interest? And if there is interest, why are sales so poor?

According to some analysts, the iPhone 14 Plus would have been punished by his price. In the US, it starts at $100 more than the regular iPhone 14. More importantly, it still costs just $100 to separate the iPhone 14 Plus from the iPhone 14 Pro. Thus, with an expenditure of $100, consumers can purchase a phone with a much higher processor and camera.

Then there is a third question. The iPhone 14 Plus is the latest addition to the market, it is the only one of the four iPhone 14 that has not been made available immediately, the first shipments only started a few weeks ago. It is likely that many consumers have been guided by the proverbial FOMOchose to focus on one of the iPhone 14 that is available immediately, rejecting the model that would have required a longer wait.

For now, it seems that Apple plans to confirm the Plus model in 2023 as well. But it finally happened with the ‘Mini’ line: Despite the disappointing numbers, Apple had chosen to keep it alive for another year, only to send it to retire in 2022.
