Vegetarians usually cut out all animal products except dairy and eggs. However, there are different variations of this diet. Ask your child what foods he will continue to eat.

From meat, a growing organism can get certain nutrients. Especially since children need more nutrients than their body weight.

One of the most important elements is protein. Children aged 4-8 years should consume 0.73 g of protein per 1 kg of body weight per day. Men 9-13 years old need about 0.78 g of protein per 1 kg of body weight per day, and 14-18 years old – 0.76 g of protein per 1 kg per day.

From 9 to 13 years old, girls should consume about 0.61 g of protein per 1 kg of body weight per day, from 14 to 18 years old – 0.62 g of protein per 1 kg of body weight per day.

Vegetarian dieters can get protein (approximately 10 g) from two small eggs, 30 g cheese, 250 ml milk, 3/4 cup lentils, 120 g tofu, 60 g hazelnuts, 300 ml soy milk.

Meat also contains a lot zinc and cloth. Try to get the child to eat whole grains so that he gets as much of these elements as possible. For example, multigrain buns instead of regular ones. Iron and zinc can also be obtained from nuts, beans, lentils and fortified cereals.

It is also important to understand that a vegetarian diet cannot be called healthy if it contains a large amount of processed and over-processed foods.
