THE new Pixel 7 and 7 Pro they turn out to be excellent smartphones. The first reviews speak very well about it and now we also have the – technical and reliable – verdict of DxOMark. The site specialized in benchmark of smartphones has put pressure on the new top of the Google range.

The Pixel 7 Pro scored very well in almost every major category, but it’s the judgment on cameras to stand out from the rest. The rear photographic sector received a score of 147, the highest score for smartphones on the market today.

According to DxOMark, the Google Pixel 7 has the best main camera on the market. It even beat the iPhone 14 Pro, but it costs almost twice as much.

It was comparable to the Honor Magic 4 Ultimate, even beating the iPhone 14 Pro – which costs at least €500 more in Italy.

The Pixel 6 Pro, while widely acclaimed, hadn’t achieved such a record. Another proof of how Google is investing heavily in its hardware products, with the goal – clearly in the long run – to become a tough and fierce competitor to brands like Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi.

It’s worth noting that the Pixel 7 Pro also took the top score in the photo category that DxOMark calls “Friends and Family,” that is, those unprofessional photos of various types of subjects — selfies, friends, and so on — often taken in sub-optimal lighting conditions.

If the quality of the photos is great, the Pixel 7 Pro achieves more modest results with videos – in this case the iPhone 14 Pro really has no equal.

The display is good too: according to DxOMark, that of the Pixel 7 Pro is the second best, behind the excellent iPhone 14 Pro Max (which had collected record after record).
