It still made sense that Google Street View had its own ad hoc application? Probably not, the proof is that google he decided to let her retire. It will close its doors – on Android but also on iOS – in March 2023.

Google Street View is a very useful service: it allows you to view real photos of almost any street in the world (with some exceptions), giving users an idea of the places they should visit even before they travel. The photos of the streets are captured by the celebrities Google Cars, cars equipped with cameras and sensors that are sent cyclically around the world. If you live in a big city, you’ve probably seen one at least once in your life. Since May last year, Google has begun to gradually replace its fleet of Google Cars with electric cars, the first ever being a modified version of the Jaguar I-Pace.

In addition, Street View is available not only on roads that are open to traffic, but even in places that are inaccessible to cars: including Venice and some mountain trails.

To be clear, the Street View service isn’t going anywhere. Users can continue to see real photos of any street or house number (with 360 degree panorama), for this they need to use theGoogle Maps Application. After all, the vast majority of users already use Street View from within the Maps application and not from the application created specifically for this service.

As of March 2023, the Google Street View application will no longer be supported and will no longer be accessible. The application will be removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in the coming days.

On the other hand, the Street View web app will continue to exist. It can be accessed at any time by navigating from the browser.
