A new smart test localized in the blood antibodies against the COVID-19 it’s finished. The test is faster and easier to perform as it does not require highly specialized laboratories and can be used to create tests personalized vaccination strategies based on the needs of each individual.

The new test, the results of which have been published in the journal Frontiers in immunologyhas been developed and developed Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology of the National Research Council of Naples (Cnr-IBBC) and of theNational Institute for Infectious Diseases (Inmi) Lazarus Spallanzaniwith the contribution of the company Takis Biotech from Rome.

The identification of antibodies against Sars-CoV-2 from vaccinated or infected individuals that can block the development of the virus can be an important predictive index to understand how the immune response will develop in patients affected by Covid-19 and in vaccinated persons.

Normally, the presence of these antibodies is determined by a test that can only be performed in laboratories with a high safety index, called BSL3.

The recent pandemic has reaffirmed the importance of immunology and especially its ability to find a clinical application for the scientific discoveries taking place in research laboratories: this study is further proof of that.
