Do you have a tool related company? If so, then you know that this field can be very expensive in the long run. Not only are the costs of the tools themselves included, but we must also add to this the cost of replacing these tools every time they disappear from the work area. Today, looks like Ford might have a solution.
Companies’ fears of losing their tools are not unfounded. In fact, according to experts, the cost of losing them is about 450 euros per van per year.
At first glance, this may not seem like much, but if the company is large enough to have several vans, loss may be greater than desired. The good thing is that there is already a way to avoid these additional annual costs, and all you need is a program developed by the folks at Ford.
Ford Pro helps you save on lost tools in your company
Recently, engineers from Aachen, Germany, are conducting a pilot project. From here they have developed a system with which you can track and control the location of the tools and equipment used by your company. For this, use protocols like Bluetooth connection and GPS tracking.
By connecting to service vehicles and a range of equipment located inside toolboxes, the service can track the whereabouts of toolboxes. Later, this information is sent to a central server, where responsible persons can have certain control and observation of the whereabouts of the same at any time.
