Football federation FIFA will release a few more football-related games this year. The company had already announced last year that it wanted to release the games itself, as its collaboration with EA was about to end. EA still owns the rights to a soccer simulation game (FIFA 23) this year, but FIFA is now developing various gaming experiences at the world championships in Qatar.
FIFA is also already looking for game publishers for next year’s FIFA game. President Gianni Infantino says future games will continue to use the FIFA name and is confident the series will continue to be seen as the only true football game without EA. Meanwhile, EA continues its own football games under a new name: EA Sports FC.
It is still unknown which games and for which platforms FIFA will release. The first few games should be released in the third quarter of this year.
