Yesterday was a big announcement night for Google. At the Google I/O event, Mountain View unveiled the new iteration of its mid-range line. The Pixel 6a resumes the winning formula that we could have already appreciated with the 5a, but this time we also find the new patented SoC Google Tensorthe same one that debuted on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro last October.
The Pixel 6a is equipped with a screen 6.1-inch Full HD + Flat OLED With a refresh rate of 60 Hz, it is significantly more compact than its bigger brothers: the Pixel 6 measures 6.4 inches and the Pro 6.7. The body features the peculiar design of the two flagships: we find the iconic camera bar raised compared to the back, but on the other hand, the smartphone will be able to count on some exclusive color options. Let’s talk about the new color sensible, an interesting teal. Two other colors are also available: Chalk, white and Cahrcoal, black.
The main sensor of the Pixel 6a is a 12.2 MP with OIS produced by Sony and is flanked by a 12 MP ultra wide angle (Sony IMX386). The front camera is 8 MP wide with an 84° field of view and fixed focus.
The Pixel 6a is only available in the configuration with 6 GB of RAM in combination with the Tensor SoC with Titan M2 security chip. The smartphone is immediately available with Android 12 and will be one of the first devices to receive the new Android 13. Google guarantees 5 years of security patches.
The Google Pixel 6a will also be available in Italy this summer at a price of 459 euros
