Lenovo has combined the 15- and 17-inch ThinkPad P series into the P16, a mobile workstation with an extra-long 16-inch display with a 16:10 ratio. It will be equipped with Intel Alder Lake-HX processor with VPro, up to 128GB ram with ecc in four so-dimm slots and Nvidia RTX A5500 with 16GB vram. This video card corresponds to a mobile 3080 Ti. Finally, there’s room for two m.2 SSDs.

Here are the four display options:

  • 3840 x 2400 OLED with touch, 400 nits, 100% DCI-P3, HDR500 True Black, Dolby Vision HDR.
  • 3840 x 2400 ips, 600 nits, 100% Adobe RGB, HDR400, Dolby Vision HDR.
  • 2560 x 1600 ips, 400 nits, 100% sRGB.
  • 1920 x 1200 ips, 300 nits, 100% sRGB.

The 94 watt-hour battery can be charged with 170 or 230 watts. Connections are two USB-a, USB type-c 10 gigabit, two Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a smart card and SD card reader. Wireless connectivity is provided via Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 with optional 5G.

The ThinkPad P16 should be released from August 1979, the exact prices for each configuration are still unclear.
