Netflix launches new spatial audio for its series and movie catalog

The feature rolled out this week and requires users to type “spatial audio” in the search bar to see available shows!

In recent months, Netflix has focused on testing strategies to weigh user loss. But these include not only new subscription options, but also technical challenges that could be attractive to bring them back.

And this, product of partnership with audio specialist company Sennheiserstreaming service now introduces a new spatial audio support for its catalog from series and movies, for any device. Yes, it’s designed for those who don’t have devices that support spatial audio.

According to Netflix, spatial audio expands into Netflix’s content catalog starting todayand users can find shows and movies that support spatial audio. Type “spatial audio” in the search bar.

The company also announced subscribers without surround sound speakers or devices that work with traditional spatial audio functionality will see spatial sound activated automatically while watching a compatible TV show or movie.

This technology is useful for users who do not have Apple devices that support spatial audio. These do not include the third-generation AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max and Beats Fit Pro, which currently support spatial audio and have been supported by Netflix since last year.
