Authorities are investigating whether this is the scenario of a reactivation of the emerald war, despite the fact that ‘Pedro Orejas’ and various associates have been extradited to the United States for drug trafficking.
In March last year, Jorge Enrique Gómez, another member of the deceased Víctor Carranza’s clan, was killed in the center of Bogotá, which has had a bloody conflict with the ‘Orejas people’ over the past decade.
