A few weeks ago, Santodomingo took to social networks to talk about a sensitive topic. The actress wanted to share her experience with menopause and age changes.
The 54-year-old woman revealed that she had mental and physical consequences due to hormonal disorders typical of the moment. He said it’s hard to accept that his body is no longer the same as it was a few decades ago.
This process started for him in the 2020 quarantines due to the covid-19 pandemic. The curfew increased her stress and caused serious anxiety and psychological problems. He even made sure that this was the reason why he stayed away from their networks.

“The problem was feeling bad about how I looked, which seems ridiculous to me because it never mattered to me. This age is starting to matter to me and that’s why I wanted to tell you that I fell into the trap of arrogance,” she said.
Based on what she said, she began to notice more of her body’s dislikes. This caused him to feel pressure to look better and younger.
“I’m always the most communicative, always trying to be the funniest, wanting to help through humor, and this one didn’t exist for me. He had no mercy towards me. I didn’t like my appearance. I hated the way I felt and one day I said to myself ‘this can’t just be happening to me’, why cowardice? There are a lot of people who expect something from me but I felt hypocritical because I was trying to help but not helping myself.”
Barranquillera admitted that she was caught up in stereotypes and abandoned her self-confidence. She said she lived with her 26-year-old daughter during this time and became estranged from groups of young people.

In the video on her Instagram account, she didn’t just talk about her personal experience, she tried to give advice to women who were experiencing the same thing or were close to it. The author explained that most people are not clearly told about the changes they will experience during menopause.
“People don’t care about that, and nobody deigns to say, ‘This is happening to you, it’s happening to your body, you’re going to experience a few things emotionally,'” she said.
Santo Domingo talked about the social pressure women feel to meet beauty standards. He stated that these natural processes of the body should be normalized like old age and that no one should feel bad about growing up.

“I don’t want them to say poor Isabella, I want women to use this space to tell them it’s okay to gain weight, that it’s okay to be over 50, that it’s okay to age with dignity, being gray haired. Feeling lost or smug that it’s all over I don’t want them to reach this age,” he said.
