From ‘view only once’ to emoticon responses to messages, What are these new features?

Updates took place both on WhatsApp Web and in the app available on mobile devices and computers and laptops.

See ‘just once’: Allows you to send photos and videos that can only be played once. Initially, users could take screenshots of the content; Now, this app is prohibited by you.

temporary messages: Allows automatic deletion of chat messages at the interval selected by the user. They can be deleted every 24 hours, 7 days or 3 months.

Messages deleted by admin: The ‘admin’ person of the groups can delete any participant’s message.

More members of groups and communities: this year the communities function that brings groups together has been implemented. In total, a group can have 512 members; meanwhile, 1,024 accounts can be included in a community.

sound playback: previously you could only listen to an audio within the chat it was sent to. Now WhatsApp lets you continue playing it while browsing other chats or other app settings.

‘Online’ personalization: platform allows you to choose who can see when the user is “online”. In the past, this notification would appear after the contact was connected, even when the ‘last seen’ option was not enabled.

multi device: Up to four devices are allowed to be paired with one phone at the same time. “Each connected device connects to WhatsApp independently, maintaining the same level of privacy and security through end-to-end encryption that users are used to,” the platform said. In addition, the phone does not need to be connected to the network to be used on other devices.

avatars: You can send customized virtual characters – for example as stickers – which can also be used for meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram).

Video call with more people: Until recently, the maximum number of people in a video conference was eight. A total of 32 users can join at the moment.

Reactions to messages and situations: since earlier it was possible to ‘quote’ to reply directly to messages. While this option is still available, you can now also react with an emoticon.
