If we’re screaming when we see cockroaches in our bathroom, imagine he’s 20 feet tall and has a recommended diet to eat people, although he’s not famous for attacking people when we pull out 70 pounds and 70 or so corpses. We would have reasons to run there.

We’ve spent decades imagining the idea that insects and spiders undergo mutations that endanger the human kingdom on Earth by magnifying them to unexpected limits. If we’re having a hard time finishing the ant plague, imagine giant ants.

Fear remains in our imagination, luckily no one has succeeded in lifting the bees to 80 kilos and the locusts 100 meters high by many evil experiments.. Unfortunately, many filmmakers wanted to bring this horror to life on the big screen.

If you’re one of those people who suffer every time you go to the country or beach house, and if an insect pops up where it shouldn’t be (pay special attention to the toilets and trash), the movies we bring you today might upset you. There’s enough of you to sleep soundly tonight.

If you want to cure the fear that has gripped you since your first childhood, today’s list may be the shock treatment of the not forgotten.. For better or worse. Without further ado, let’s move on to the movies of the week.

In the society of the future, students are encouraged to join the army and become citizens. Johnny Rico prepares to follow his girlfriend, but after the death of his parents, he joins a bloody war against the bugs of the planet Klendathu due to a meteor that these insects hurled at his hometown.

This two-hour classic from 1997 brought the fear of giant insects to a generation. Fortunately, wars used to take place outside of planet Earth, so the fear of removing the toilet bowl and finding one was dispelled.

Casper Van Dien and Denise Richards starred in a movie where both he and she were handsome and brave (part of the movie’s success came from that detail because they looked great on the big screen). And the movie didn’t disappoint with 7.3 on IMDb.

It’s now available to watch in high definition at the time on Disney+. Watching it is pure nostalgia for all millennials.

shake

shake

In Perfection, a small town on the edge of the Nevada desert, something seems to be happening underground. When phone lines and roads are cut, residents panic as everything indicates something alive and terrifying beneath the desert sands.

As if it were Dune, in Tremors (1990) many of us explored the horrors of the unknown, the underground. And finally it’s about the worms, only Frank Herbert’s was much bigger and less scary. They’re just the right size (unknown) and not a bit of a scare in Tremors.

Apple TV Plus

As heroes, we have the great Kevin Bacon in one of his first roles as an (almost) action hero.and Fred Ward, who will also appear in a second forgotten movie. Or take all the tapes and bury them in the desert with the worms.

Available on Apple TV+, Google Play Movies, YouTube, Prime Video… so you can choose where to have good horror.

Fog

In a small town in Maine, a violent storm suddenly breaks out and ends abruptly as it began. Then a dense fog rises and enters homes and supermarkets, capturing and killing anyone surrounded by darkness.

The Fog (2007) based on Stephen King’s play of the same name It is one of the best films ever made, thanks to the work of the author. In this case, we have to thank a good budget and a very successful management by Frank Darabont.

If you enjoyed The Expanse series, you’ll be familiar with the protagonist as we mention Thomas Jae as Detective Miller in the Amazon series. For the rest, the cast isn’t incompatible, if not rocketing.

The movie is available in high definition on HBO Max, so you have no excuse not to watch one of the best horror movies of the 2000s.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

Saruman’s forces were destroyed and his stronghold was besieged. The time has come to decide the fate of Middle-earth, and for the first time there seems to be little hope. The dark lord Sauron’s attention is now focused on Gondor, the last human stronghold, whose throne Aragorn will take.

But we all know the synopsis for The Return of the King (2003). Now, what makes this movie on the list? You have an explanation. In the third installment of one of the film industry’s most important trilogy, we meet Ella The Spider, a terrifying character who is a giant spider.

Sam and Frodo are with him in one of the saga’s scariest events. If you’re afraid of spiders, we can already guarantee that this movie will give you some really bad times. But it’ll be worth it because we’re talking about a movie that won 11 Oscars, including Best Picture.

humanity is in danger

humanity is in danger

While the government denies the threat exists, the mutated insects head for the nearest cities. A group of scientists and soldiers will try to prevent disaster. With this film, we will not be afraid of ants, no matter how small they are.

We’re talking about a 1954 classic in which our parents discovered the horror of giant bugs.. Regardless of how old it is, if you like cinema today, it’s worth seeing as an original horror work, out of curiosity and working with the technology of that time.
