Geeked Week also served to launch the official trailer for Resident Evil: The Seriesthe project that advances the events related to the video game saga launched in the 1990s and which has created a real franchise.

According to the description made, the TV series is dedicated to Resident Evil:

It will have the best of the franchise’s DNA, with tough heroines, monstrous creatures, a struggle for survival and a deep mystery to uncover.
The project was created by Andrew Dabb (who previously worked on Supernatural), who will “expand the direction of the franchise, with new stories, horror, adrenaline and action.”

The story is set in 2036, 14 years after the virus triggered the global apocalypse. Jade Wesker struggles to survive in a world full of infectious creatures. And amid this massacre scene, Jade is haunted by her Racoon City past, her father’s relationship with the Umbrella Corporation, but even more so by what happened to her sister Billie.

The cast includes Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti, Turlough Convery. The eight episodes of the series are produced by Mary Leah Sutton, Robert Kulzer, Oliver Berben and Martin Moszkowicz of Constantin Film.

The show can be seen from 14 July.
