Samsung launched the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 this Monday (11). The models fall into the company’s intermediate portfolio and offer well-balanced specifications, good displays and a similar appearance to the top-end Galaxy S24.
Equipped with Exynos chipsets, the new Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 are offered with flat edges, high refresh rate AMOLED displays and three cameras on the back.
Besides, Samsung promises up to four years of system updates for binary – even possibly reaching Android 18 – and five years of security patches.
Galaxy A35
Following Samsung’s design philosophy, the Galaxy A35 has a body with flat corners and clear edges on the front. The screen of the device is 6.6 inches with Super AMOLED technology, Full HD + resolution (2340 x 1080p) and 120 Hz refresh rate.
Inside the vehicle is the Exynos 1380 chipset found in the Galaxy A54 released in 2023. The processor is accompanied by 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and up to 256 GB storage.
As for the cameras, the rear set includes a 50 MP sensor with optical stabilization (OIS) and support for 4K recording at 30 fps, followed by an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 5 MP macro. On the front, the 13 MP selfie sensor occupies a hole centered at the top of the screen.
Finally, the Galaxy A35’s battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh (chargeable up to 25 W), 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 support. The device will be available in Ice Blue, Lavender, Lemon Yellow and Navy Blue color options.
Galaxy A55
The most interesting part of Galaxy A55 Debut of SoC Exynos 1480. The chipset consists of four high-performance Cortex-A78 cores at 2.75 FGz, four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 2 GHz and the Xclipse 530 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture. According to the company, rendering of the component is 15% faster and graphics performance is up to 32% higher.
With the new chip, the Galaxy A55 is available with 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and up to 256 GB storage. The model can also have expanded storage space with a microSD card, like the Galaxy A35.
Visually, it adopts the same look as the Galaxy S24: flat edges, prominent front edges and cameras without modules on the back. The 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display has Full HD+ resolution (2340 x 1080p) and 120 Hz refresh rate, but has Vision Booster and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
On the back, the 50 MP camera with optical stabilization (OIS), autofocus and 4K video recording support is led by a trio of 30 fps, 12 MP ultra-wide and macro 5 MP cameras with VDIS and EIS stabilization. On the front, the front lens has a resolution of 32 MP.
If we close the composition, the battery of the Galaxy A55 has a capacity of 5,000 mAh (can be charged at 25 W). There’s support for 5G connectivity, two SIM card trays, eSIM support, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. The mobile phone will be available in Ice Blue, Green, Lilac and Navy Blue colours.
