The new Latin American thriller series Santa Evita debuts in Italy on Star, within Disney +, on Tuesday, July 26: now Hulu has also released the trailer in the original language, or in Argentine Spanish.

The series will consist of seven episodes and is based on the bestseller of the same name by Argentine author Tomás Eloy Martínez, which follows the fascinating story of the embalmed body of Eva Perón, who was not buried for three years while waiting for the construction of a monument never completed.
Santa Evita is the story of a body without a grave and the legend that resulted from it. In 1955, then-President Juan Domingo Perón was overthrown in a military coup and Evita’s body was kept hidden for 16 years to prevent it from becoming a symbol against the regime. Before her death, Eve had become a powerful figure as General Perón’s wife, and her unburied corpse haunted the country’s political arena for over twenty years.

The series features an internationally acclaimed cast led by Natalia Oreiro (Eva Perón), Ernesto Alterio (Colonel Moori Koenig), and Diego Velázquez (Mariano), with Francesc Orella (Doctor Pedro Ara) and Darío Grandinetti as Juan Domingo Perón.

Santa Evita was shot in more than 40 locations in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with more than 120 actors and 1,300 extras. Detailed historical reconstructions, costumes and sets were designed and created by a large group of local professionals.

Mexican actress and producer Salma Hayek Pinault and José Tamez (both of the production company Ventanarosa) are executive producers of the series which was developed and co-produced with Non Stop. Santa Evita was directed by director Rodrigo García, who is also an executive producer, and by Argentine director, actor, theater director and screenwriter Alejandro Maci, who is also an art producer. The screenplay was written by Marcela Guerty and Pamela Rementería.
