The announcement of Batgirl’s cancellation hinted that the… Warner Bros. something changes regarding the development of the films DC Comics, and the words of Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav only confirms this. Indeed, Zaslav announced the development of a ten-year plan.

Looking at the opportunities that can arise with what we have in house, DC seems to be at the top of the list of projects to focus on. When we talk about Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman, we are talking about characters that everyone in the world knows and who can create great stories and great opportunities for us. That’s why we proceeded with a reset. We have restructured the business we focus on. A team arrives to work on a 10-year plan for DC. This is something similar to what Alan Horn and Bob Iger did with Kevin Feige at Disney.
Zaslav went on to say that the goal will be:
Because we focus on quality, we won’t release a movie until it’s ready. The idea will be to make the best possible type of feature film. We think DC can do better, and we’re trying to focus on that.
In the coming months, there will be a better understanding of what projects are in the pipeline for DC Films, what will be confirmed, and which films and TV series will be removed from future plans.
