Paper Girls was released on July 29 on the streaming platform Prime Videoand the director and expert nerd Kevin Smith couldn’t help but comment on the streaming platform’s new content. Smith called Paper Girls “amazing”.

I can say that it is a great series. […] Some might say it’s a time travel show, and there are four girls riding Stranger Things style bikes, but that’s the only similarity. […] there are time transitions and at some point a robot appears. There is talk of wars in the future. I had no idea what to expect, it’s a really imaginative series. And then the actresses are fantastic, both the little ones and the adult counterparts. Ali Wong was great. This is an original story and I’ve never seen anything like it. […] The people who produced this series are already in the future. I did Clerks 3, but they did something so intricate it’s never been seen before.
