The countdown is almost over: the original Disney live-action comedy Hocus pocus 2 will debut on Disney+ on September 30, as part of the celebration called Hallowstream. To prepare audiences for the film’s arrival, Disney is making available today the first clip of this sequel to the Halloween classic, which offers a new take on Bette Midler (First Wives Club, Beaches), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex and the City, Divorce) and Kathy Najimy (Sister Act – Younger) as the delightfully evil Sanderson sisters.
It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and brought the 17th-century sisters out for revenge. Now it’s up to three high school students to stop the voracious witches from wreaking havoc on Salem before dawn on All Saints’ Day. Hocus Pocus 2 also stars Sam Richardson (The War of Tomorrow), Doug Jones (The Shape of Water – The Shape of Water), Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl), Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories), Lilia Buckingham (Dirt) , Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf), with Tony Hale (Veep – Incompetent Vice President) and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso). The film is directed by Anne Fletcher (I Want a Life Shaped Like Me, Blackmail of Love) and produced by Lynn Harris (A Winning Family – King Richard, Paradise Beach – Inside the Nightmare), starring Ralph Winter (Hocus Pocus , the X-Men franchise), David Kirschner (Hocus Pocus, The Killer Doll), and Adam Shankman (Disenchanted, Hairspray – Fat Is Beautiful) as executive producers.
