The Scottish actor Robbie Coltraneknown in the cinema and on TV and made famous by the role of Hagrid in the saga of Harry Potter, died at age 72 from an illness he had been battling for the past two years. The artist, whose real name was Anthony Robert McMillan, died in a clinic near his home in Lambert, Scotland.

In his career, which started more than forty years ago, Coltrane has worked on many famous TV series in the UK such as squatterbut the world audience knows him for his varied and multifaceted roles, in comedies and dramas, to well-known sagas such as that of James Bond.
However, the role for which everyone will keep an indelible memory of his figure will be that of Rubeus Hagrid throughout the Harry Potter saga, which he has followed for all eight of his films.
