The Midnight Clubin addition to gaining consensus on Netflix among the users of the streaming platform, it set a Guinness World Record for the number of jumpscares present in the first episode of the TV series. There are 21 of them, and Netflix has published and videotaped them all.

Here’s the movie.

This is the description of the TV series:

For those who left and for those who will leave. To us now and those beyond, welcome to MIDNIGHT CLUB, a new Netflix horror series from Mike Flanagan, the producer of The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass. The Midnight Club debuts on October 7. In an institution for terminally ill young people, eight patients who gather at midnight every night to tell each other stories make a pact: The next one to die gives the group a sign from the outside. The Midnight Club is based on the 1994 novel of the same name and other works by Christopher Pike.

Director Mike Flanagan himself said of the project:

We have a fantastic group of young actors on hand. And then there’s the cast that leads the group, in the role of the enigmatic doctor Heather Langenkamp. And for big horror fans like me, he’s a royal figure.
