Unlike C/C ++, Rust provides protection against common security deficits in memory, such as bumper, leakage and data race, thanks to controls in its own ownership and compilation.

The Surface team has already introduced Russian drivers to Copilot+ devices, including laptops and tablets with Intel Core Ultra and Snapdragon X Plus processors.

For this, the Windows-Drivers-RS open platform created by Microsoft is used. It contains libraries, documents and tools to write window drivers on rust.

Microsoft will continue to develop an ecosystem: expand the support for drivers’ drivers, add new functions and simplify the passage from C/C ++ due to secure abstractions. It is also planned to make more components open through Github.

The company emphasizes that the transition to Pust will support drivers more safer, more reliable and easier and that the entire Windows system will increase the overall protection level.
