Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally confirmed what was an open secret. Namor (Tenoch Huerta) is a mutant, making him second only to Kamala Khan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nonetheless, the big question that this revelation raises is what will be the role of King Talokan in the future.. Will he be a figure to be feared in the midst of the Wakanda universe, or will he finally figure prominently in the upcoming X-Men saga?
Ever since Marvel regained the rights to the characters in 2019, fans have been wondering how the X-Men will fit into the publisher’s movie saga. The first indication was shown in the series miss marvel, in which the protagonist turned out to be the franchise’s first official mutant. Right now in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, confirming Namor’s character makes the script more interesting. Moreover, this is not a wink and not a mention in the margins. The leader of Talokan is a very important character, with his own kingdom, and who will undoubtedly have a wider future in the saga.
The real question is whether Namor will join the mutant camp when he is officially introduced. After all, its very existence has provided a number of details about the history of X-gene carriers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. AT Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Namor was found to be a mutant with extraordinary powers. Besides that he bears on his shoulders the humiliation of defeat at the hands of Wakanda. What could make the character look for allies among his own kind. At nearly 500 years old, it’s likely that Namor knows a lot more about the existence of mutants than one might think. Which, in turn, implies that he can form alliances in the face of a possible attack on the surface.
Could Namor’s story be the official door to introduce the world of mutants? By now, it’s clear that Talokan could be inventive and important enough to become a gathering place for the X-Men.
