In a large villa on Lake Como, everything is ready to celebrate Elio and Caterina’s wedding. It will be the happiest day of their lives and also that of their parents, especially their respective fathers, Giacomo and Giovanni. The two have known each other since school and have shared everything: the family business – Segrate Arredi – affection, holidays… The children’s marriage is the most exciting seal of their fraternal, inseparable friendship. That’s why they spared no expense: three days of partying, a cardinal to celebrate the wedding, fine wines, star chefs… And to direct everything, a very expensive maître who calls himself “the Riccardo Muti of catering”.
Too bad that along with Margherita, Giovanni’s ex-wife and mother of the bride, Aldo, her new partner, also arrives at the wedding. Sympathetic, expansive and, above all, messy to the highest degree, the newcomer hits the marriage like a tornado, adding a series of blunders and hilarious but above all very expensive incidents. Giacomo and Giovanni try any way they can to stop it, but under Aldo’s blows it bursts open revealing a hidden malaise, destined to question Giovanni and Giacomo’s friendship, their marriage and beyond. And that will force everyone to come to terms with their doubts and with the courage it takes to surrender to happiness.
