The Berlin International Film Festival 2023 will be a tribute to the brilliant director Stephen Spielberg with the Golden Bear for Lifetime Achievement. During the event, the filmmaker’s new feature film, The Fabelmans, will be screened.

Berlin Film Festival directors Mariette Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian said of Steven Spielberg’s Lifetime Achievement Award:

Thanks to his incredible journey, Steven Spielberg has enchanted generations of viewers and has given cinema a new meaning as a tool that can produce dreams. Be it the world of the very young or historical reality, Steven Spielberg’s films have succeeded in taking us to different levels, with the big screen becoming the place to fill our emotions. And if Berlinale 2023 represents a new beginning, there couldn’t be a better character than Steven Spielberg.

Part of the Berlinale will also be dedicated to Steven Spieberg, who will honor the director with a series of screenings, the titles of which will be announced later. The Berlin International Film Festival takes place from February 16 to 23. Last year, M. Night Shyamalan presided over the jury, and the film that won the Golden Bear was Carla Simón’s Alcarràs.
