On Wednesday night, September 27, My People Awards 2023, A gala aimed at recognizing Colombia’s most outstanding musical artists.

Regarding this, The winner was Luis Alfonso, singer-songwriter of popular music from Antioquia, known for his collaborations with Pasabordo and Pipe Bueno. However, the public was stunned by the statement he made while receiving the award.
As he gave his speech and dedicated the award to his loved ones, he said “something very special” happened to him just minutes before he took the stage.
“I’m telling you, something very special happened to me, and as soon as he got off the stage, they said to me, ‘His father died. The old man just died.'” He commented, and then dedicate the award to his father.
“I told them: ‘Friends, we are here for the love of music’ (…) today I dedicate this award to my father in heaven,” he added.
He also dedicated this award to his son Agustin and all the fans who supported him throughout his musical career.
