The PS5 Slim is officially unveiled: it will go on sale in November with a new modular design.

As expected by the rumors, in 2023 we will have a new PlayStation 5. More precisely, PS5 Slim, which, while maintaining the characteristics of the current model, reduces its size and introduces a new design, different from the current one and a modular model: a Blu-Ray reader can be added or delete at the user’s request.

Although Sony has not officially called it PS5 Slim, the truth is that this is the first major version of the console that reduces its weight and size, as the company has done in past generations: a lighter console that, without changing the specifications, This will be the new standard model once stock of the current model is exhausted.

The new PS5 Slim has reduced its volume by more than 30% and weight by 18% and 24% compared to previous models, depending on whether it is a digital or disk model. The console now consists of four separate panels instead of two: the top has a glossy look, while the bottom remains matte and continues to be offered in both digital and disc versions.
