Microsoft took advantage of the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 to announce an update to its Xbox Series line of consoles. Rumor has it that a few months ago Xbox series digital only. The new white console will arrive without a disc reader or 1TB SSD.

Xbox is betting on a digital future, and its new consoles are proof of that. The company will release a model of its most powerful console with the same characteristics, but without a Blu-ray reader. This will optimize the internal design and – in theory – reduce production costs, leading to more affordable price for the end consumer.

Prices vary depending on model and region, although digital Series X will be slightly cheaper more expensive than the version with a disc reader at launch
