Sberbank, Rosbank and Tinkoff Bank are going to return the previous conditions of their loyalty programs after August 31; from that moment, the Central Bank’s restriction on the acquisition commission will no longer apply. This is reported by Vedomosti.

The big banks will return the conditions of loyalty programs to pre-crisis levels from August 31

At the end of March, in order to support business, the Bank of Russia limited the maximum possible commission to 1%, which companies that sell socially significant goods or provide such services pay to banks for the possibility of non-cash payment. for their assets (acquirer).

Previously, acquisition fees were 1.2-2.2%. The store pays this commission to its serving bank, which distributes the shares in favor of the payment system and the bank that issued the card.

In addition, the Central Bank previously set the interbank (exchange) commission at 0.7%. The restriction took effect on April 18 and is valid until August 31.

After August 31, the regulator does not plan to extend the restrictions, a central bank representative told the publication.

  • If the restrictions on the acquisition commission of the Central Bank are canceled after August 31, Sberbank will return to the previous conditions of its “Sberspasibo” loyalty program; this can happen as early as September 1. When paying for goods and services, program participants, as before, will be able to receive up to 20% on purchase categories with increased bonuses, said a representative of the credit institution.
  • Tinkoff Bank will restore cash back conditions for purchases at stores selling socially important goods after restrictions are lifted.
  • Rosbank also intends to review the conditions of loyalty programs after the return of the exchange level to its previous values.
  • Promsvyazbank, Moscow Credit Bank and Post Bank reported that they are monitoring market conditions and changes in Central Bank requirements in order to improve loyalty programs.
