Sony PlayStation Productions continues its plan to broaden its multimedia horizon – through film and television adaptations – with a new project, this time involving Days gone bythird-person survival action-adventure originally released for PlayStation 4 in 2019. Sam Heughan may star in the film (seen in Foreigner) as the motorcyclist and bounty hunter Deacon St. John.

The video game, made by Bend Studios, has been fairly appreciated by the public, though not acclaimed by critics, and has sold quite a few copies, but unflattering, not enough to warrant a video game sequel. However, the IP lends itself perfectly to making a movie, perhaps in The Walking Dead style. The screenplay should be produced and written by Oscar nominee Sheldon Turner, who has worked on X-Men: The Beginning, Up in the Clouds and Don’t Open That Door: The Beginning, among others.
Everything is still in the preliminary stages and in all likelihood we will see Chad Stahelski’s previously announced Ghost of Tsushima film first.

This is the synopsis of the original video game:
Days Gone is an action-adventure set in a wild and hostile open world that has risen from the ashes of a devastating global pandemic.
Take on the role of ex-outlaw biker Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter looking for a reason to live in a land of death. Explore abandoned settlements in search of equipment to craft weapons and useful items, or try your luck with other survivors trying to earn a living through trading… or in more violent ways.
